Training Opportunities

"When you are afraid, when you are angry, when you allow a fear and anger to shape policies, you will abuse other human beings, you will treat people unfairly and you will create injustice."

Indigent Criminal Defense Training Seminars

Pursuant to Ohio Administrative Code section 120-1-10, appointed counsel in Ohio must meet specific training requirements to qualify for state reimbursement. (Learn more about the OAC qualifications on the Policy & Outreach homepage.) In order to aid attorneys in complying with the OAC, the Office of the Ohio Public Defender has compiled this partial listing of relevant training programs for the convenience of the Ohio criminal defense bar. Additionally, the Ohio State Bar Association offers a number of self-training courses, available at the OSBA's "CLE OPD" page.

If you have knowledge of other Ohio criminal defense seminars that are not posted, please contact Terri Wilson at Terri.Wilson@opd.ohio.gov
